Playing Video Games Can Lower Your Sex Drive
Video games are in almost every home these days, and it is estimated that about 1.2 billion people play these games. Several studies have been done on how this impacts overall health, and now a study has also been done on our sex lives.
This study on 396 men, published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, found a lower prevalence of premature ejaculation in games compared with non-gamers. It also found that games had a lower sex-drive than non-gamers.
The reason behind the lower sex drive may be because the games often get substantial dopamine releases while playing video games, and may, therefore, feel less of a need for further dopamine release. Sex drive is very dependent on dopamine.
