Flavonoid-rich foods have been scientifically proven to reduce the risk of erectile dysfunction. The benefit is greatest in those under 70 years of age. This conclusion comes from a research study undertaken by the University of East Anglia and Harvard University. The study was performed on more than 50,000 men and also published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
Blueberries are rich in these flavonoids, as are cherries, blackberries, radishes, blackcurrant and citrus fruits. The study showed that a high intake of these fruits could decrease erectile dysfunction by 14%, and a combination of eating these fruits and doing regular exercise could reduce erectile dysfunction by 21%.
