Western Diet Kills Sperm And Testosterone [37% – Yiikes!]

Sperm count in the western world is down 60% over the last 40 years. Yes: 60%..!

Our sperm levels are heading towards extinction.. Indeed, if this were an animal species or a plant, we would probably be using words like ‘endangered species’ and ‘towards extinction’.

And:

This drop in sperm go hand in hand with studies showing a similar decline in testosterone levels: The Massachusetts Male Aging Study (MMAS) found that a man today has about 20% less testosterone than the average man 20 years ago.

Why is this happening? Why are our testosterone dropping and our sperm levels tanking?

There are lots of explanations. Such as increased radiation, pollution, lack of exercise, too much stress, overweight, etc.

However..

A new study analyzing 2,935 Danish men (median age of 19) undergoing examination before military inscription, found something very interesting:

Those men who had a diet containing more pizza, snacks, french fries, sweets, sugar-sweetened drinks, processed and red meat, and highly processed grains – had a significantly lower sperm count than men with a healthier diet.

In fact, those with the ‘prudent’ diet had a 37% higher sperm count than those with the worst diet.

Shocking? Not really.. But very important news!

We now have a good datapoint indicating that a diet consisting of a large amount of processed food, sugar, salt and meat has a negative effect on your sperm levels.

And if it has such a negative effect on your sperm levels, just imagine what other negative effects it has on other parts of your body. And mind.

Takeaway: If you want to be healthy, live well and enable your body to produce a healthy amount of sperm, you should consider maintaining a healthy diet.
