We have known for a long time that a healthy diet is incredibly important in order to function well sexually. And a new study has shone further light on the link between erectile dysfunction and diet.
A study from Greece has demonstrated that the Mediterranean diet and particularly olive oil, can be significantly more effective in the long-term at curing erectile dysfunction than any drug treatment.
More than 600 men participated in this study, where one group followed the Mediterranean diet and another group did not.
The group that changed their diet to the Mediterranean diet saw a 40% decrease in the risk of erectile dysfunction.
Also, men who consumed 9 spoons of olive oil per week had a notably higher testosterone level.
In addition to improved sexual function, the Mediterranean diet is also likely to reduce the risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, obesity and high cholesterol levels.
