However, if you cycle every day or spend several hours on the bike every week, you may experience problems.
Because if you spend lots of time sitting on a bicycle seat, you can cause damage to what is called the pudendal nerve. This nerve stretches from your genitals to your anus.
If this nerve gets damaged, you can experience numbness, loss of sensation, chronic pain and erectile dysfunction.
Similarly, if you spend lots of time sitting on a hard surface or other seat that exerts pressure to this region, you can also develop the same complications.
If you do start to experience numbness and pain in this area from cycling or other activities, or if you start experiencing erectile dysfunction, you may want to consider taking a break.
