Having sex frequently has been shown to have a number of health benefits. Some of the the most important are greater satisfaction with life, more happiness and a more fulfilled life.

A research study on 73 men and women from 50 to 83 years of age, reported that those who had sex on a weekly basis did better on cognitive tests, than those who had sex less frequently. The results indicated that those who had sex frequently had better memory than those who were less sexually active.
Although the study had a small number of participants and the results should not be treated as conclusive, it was theorized that the improvement in cognitive function could be because of the dopamine release during sex, as dopamine may improve the working memory of the brain.
