Several research studies has shown that exercise can increase testosterone levels. Testosterone has in turn been shown to increase a man’s sex drive. However, it has now also been shown that extreme exercise can also reduce sex drive for men.
The study was carried out by researches at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. They administered surveys to physically active men about their workout routines and their sex lives.
The key finding from the surveys was that men who engaged in very strenuous and long-lasting physical training had less sex drive than those who did moderate exercise. In other words, working out too hard can reduce a man’s libido.
The study also showed that moderate exercise was associated with a strong sex drive.
