Low Testosterone Can Cause Arthritis, High Blood Pressure, And Type 2 Diabetes

Low Testosterone Is Linked With Arthritis, High Blood Pressure And Type 2 Diabetes
A new research study has shown that having low testosterone levels put men at higher risks of suffering from several chronic diseases.

This study, performed on 2,399 men, looked at the relationship between low testosterone levels and the prevalence of nine chronic conditions:
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Arthritis
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Stroke
  • Pulmonary disease
  • High triglycerides
  • Hypercholesterolemia
  • Hypertension
  • Clinical depression
The study found that low total testosterone was associated with multimorbidity (when two or more of the chronic conditions were present simultaneously) in all age groups.

The researchers also found a large dose-dependent relationship between the age-specific low total testosterone and multimorbidity.

This means, that if you have low testosterone, you are more likely to suffer from these chronic conditions, and also, that the lower your testosterone is, the higher the likelihood of having these conditions.
