But Dr. Rizwan Haq of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute has in a San Francisco court testified regarding a “plausible” link between erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra and Cialis, and skin cancer.

Dr. Rizwan Haq has claimed that there is a biologically plausible mechanism by which Sildenafil causes accelerated melanoma progression.

It is yet to be determined whether the claims against Pfizer and Eli Lilly are sound enough to justify a jury trial. However, more than 800 lawsuits were filed against the pharmaceutical giants and consolidated in a multidistrict case in San Francisco.

However, any fight against Pfizer and Eli Lilly will be challenging given their enormous budgets and power.

Blue Pills (Viagra)

Viagra and Cialis are phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. And PDE5 is also present in melanoma (cancer) cells, hence the link.
